"The greatest song writer ever born of English race" - Algenon Charles Swinburne
Whilst not considered a household name as a writer during his lifetime, Robert Herrick, born 1591, grew-up in a family of means amongst the literati and was himself a 'son of Ben' [Jonson]. However, after completing his studies at Cambridge he took Holy Orders and died a poor country parson in 1674. Herrick composed over 2,500 poems, many within his best-known work, Hesperides.
This Pocket Book includes To the Virgins Make Much of Time, an extract from Corinna's Going a Maying and Perilla; amongst others.

Reviews
I should read more Herrick; this is a start.
The font for 'A Thanksgiving' looks a little out of place, alas.
