"A man not forestalled by predecessors, nor to be classed with contemporaries, nor to be replaced by known or readily surmisable successors" - William Michael Rossetti
Born in 1757 and famed only in his lifetime as an engraver, developing his illumination technique, Blake also painted and wrote poetry. It was only many years after his death, in 1827, that his art and visionary poems became widely regarded around the world; 'And did those feet in ancient time' becoming the hymn Jerusalem, considered by many to be the second English national anthem.
In this Pocket Book are 12 of Blake's poems including Tyger! Tyger!, I travelled Through a Land of Men and Did Those Feet in Ancient Time.
This vintage edition is numbered 92 in the series of Pocket Books and was printed with JL Carr's Kettering address on the inside back cover. The inside pages are produced on a heavy cream paper and the cover is matt card.
